Dr. Joyce received her Ph.D. in Sociology from the University at Buffalo in 2005. She has been on the faculty at Buffalo State since 2012. Her main areas of interest are Aging and the Life Course; Family; Gender; and Social Demography. She teaches Childhood and Youth, Sociology of Aging, Sociology of Family and Research Methods. Her first book, Women, Marriage, and Wealth: The Impact of Marital Status on the Economic Well-Being of Women across the Life Course was published in 2007. She is currently working on a revised and renewed edition of the book which will be published in 2014.
